Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

Position Overview

Primary responsibilities of this position include therapy, assessment, ARD participation, and consultation with school staff or other Specialized assessment personnel. Scheduling is flexible, but services must be provided during the school day. Time commitment is 2 to 3 days a week. Testing equipment and protocols will be provided. Make your own schedule!

Required Qualifications​

  • Graduate degree

  • Licensed by the Texas State Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology

  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence for Speech-Language Pathologists (CCC-SLP) required

  • Minimum of 2 years experience as an SLP in a school or pediatric setting

  • Able to pass the criminal history background check required by Texas Senate Bill 9

  • Demonstrated knowledge of current best practices in assessment, therapy, and supervision

  • Bilingual (Spanish) Preferred 

 

Responsibilities

The SLP would be responsible for the evaluation and interpretation of results and participation in eligibility decisions for students with disabilities or suspected disabilities at the campus. The SLP would be responsible for test administration, scoring, and developing reports, and presenting the evaluation results to parents and ARD committee members. The SLP would provide ARD’d therapy time for special education students as assigned.

Special Knowledge & Skills

  • Knowledge of procedures for assessing speech and language deficits.

  • Use of best practice in delivery of speech and language therapy

  • Working knowledge of special education federal regulations and Texas laws.

  • Use of best practice evaluation methods for determining Speech Impairment.
